MEYVN Vocalist: 'We're Prog With A Kick'

January 24, 2007

In a brand new podcast interview posted by The Metal Observer, vocalist Rick Clark of the Austin, Texas-based heavy prog/power act MEYVN discusses the band upcoming performance at this year's ProgPower Europe festival. "We are not your Dad's prog," Clark explains. "We like to come out and kick people in the teeth! We're prog with a kick. We like to play hard, heavy and technical with emotion and passion." Check out the full interview at this location.

MEYVN's debut album, "Splintered Skies", was released last September via KillZone Records. The CD was originally self-released by the band, which bought them to the attention of KillZone. The label re-released the album with a brand new track, "How Far We Fall", plus new artwork and a 16-page booklet.

MEYVN built a fan base both at home in Texas and internationally in Greece, Germany and the Far East with their first self-released EP, "Last Rites". They were also voted "The Best Band in Austin 2005" by readers of The Edge magazine, sweeping the board in nearly every category that they were nominated in.
